In celebration of the long-awaited Federal Recognition, we are creating a community video for our new single track, ‘Lumbee Nation Here To Stay‘. This project is an invitation, not an obligation. It is offered in respect, care, and gratitude, and is rooted in the understanding that living communities carry living stories. Our intention is not to speak for anyone, but to create space for presence, memory, and connection to be seen and felt.
Who This Invitation Is For
This invitation is open to Lumbee community members and families who feel called to participate. You do not need professional photos or videos. You do not need to explain or perform. If you feel a quiet yes, that is enough. Participation is completely voluntary.
You’re Invited to Share
You’re welcome to send photos, short video clips, or both.
Photos may include:
- family gatherings
- photos of videos of Lumbee ancestors
- pow-wow moments
- everyday life, past or present
- images that reflect continuity, pride, and belonging
Video clips (optional):
- Preferred length: 4–6 seconds
- Maximum length: 10 seconds
- Yes, you sing to the words of this song.
- Other simple moments are perfect:
- movement
- hands working
- families together
- regalia in motion
- feet on the earth
- quiet presence
You may send more than one photo or clip and we will choose the best one for the project.
About Selection
The song is 4 minutes and 48 seconds long. While we would love to include everyone, it isn’t possible to include every submission. We will do our best to include as many as possible, giving preference in the order they are received.
📅 Submission deadline: midnight of February 28. This allows time to create and edit the video with care and intention, with a hopeful release date by the end of March 2026.
How to Send
Option 1: Email
Best for photos and short clips. If emailing video clips, shorter clips (4–6 seconds) are more likely to send successfully.

This project is not political and not affiliated with any formal process. It is about honoring presence, memory, and continuity—those who came before, those who are here now, and those yet to come.
Thank you for considering sharing your presence.
We are honored to receive it.
Thank you,
